Restaurant Sin Kar Hee

Restaurant Sin Kar Hee is famous with its Poon Choi (盆菜), also known as Big Bowl Feast. What is Poon Choi? By rumors, in ancient of China, the richman like to show off and invite all the friends / relatives to his house to having dinners with a lot of good foods. At the end of the party, there will be a lot of left over food. Then the owner will use a wood basins to collect all the food and let the workers to have it.

Another versions is, Poon Choi actually invented in late Song Dynasty. No matter how, now Poon Choi is served in most of the chinese restaurant. Sin Kar Hee is one of them.

Restaurant Sin Kar Hee Poon choi is the new style which having pork, fish, abalone, prawn, pig feet, vegetables, chicken, duck, and others food. After finish with the food, you can mix the sauce with some noodles (Yee Mian). It is tasty and nice.

There is two types of Poon Chooi in Restaurant Sin Kar Hee, one is RM 280++ and one is RM 400++ (Please call to confirm the price). The one i order is RM 280, which is quite nice and enough for 10 people.

Do they serve small portion of Poon Choi for less than 10 people? No. You have to find 8 to 10 people for this food. It is a good idea to have Poon Choi with all the friends during some festival celebration. Especially Chinese New Year.

Besides Poon Choi, you can order other chinese dishes as well. It is typically chinese restaurant, just it is famous with Poon Choi.
