The Harbour

When i reach Caernarfon, i found out that this is close to sea side. So i am so exciting to hunt for some seafood. Normally in western country, there will be some good seafood restaurant at the port. But after i go round and round at the Caernarfon Castle, i couldn't get any seafood restaurant, what a disappointed.

After all, i decided to try one of the restaurant there, namely "Yr Harbwr", the name is in Welsh language, so i guess the name is "The Harbour", but i see another name for this restaurant called "Table Table", so i do not know what is the actual name for this restaurant.

After seen the menus, i am attracted by one main courses called "Duck N Apple", from the description, it is duck meat cooked with apple sauce. So i decided to try this. Since i haven't tried any steak in UK, so i order another Sirloin Steak.

Our starter drink is Cappuccino and Mocha. As the dinning culture in UK, normally the english people like to drink coffee after the meal and with some desserts. But asian style is to drink coffee before the meal.

No Comment for the drink, it is just like normal Cappuccino and Mocha. No surprise.

Duck N Apple

duck is looked nice with some grill potatoes and brocolli at the bottom. But there is a bit disappointed with the meal. The apples sauce is too sweet, it is not matched with the duck. I am thinking if they can change the sauce, then the meal will be perfect.

Sirloin Steak

First Sirloin Steak in UK,it comes with fried tomatoes and some fresh water-cress. I order with Medium cook, but after all comes out with Medium-Rare cook (i think i spell correctly). For steak wise, i like Medium-Rare rather than Medium, but normally when i try a new restaurant, i do not dare to order medium-rare, so i will take the safety side, medium cook will be better. The steak is really disappointed me, i do not feel soft enough with the meat. Quite a failure steak.

Price (in GBP)
Cappuccino 1.95
Mocha 2.15
Sirloin Steak 12.49
Duck 9.99

Total cost: GBP 26.58

The Anglesey

It has been long time not updated my blog. Since i have assigned to UK for 2 years, i found there is no special food in UK. My mood of hunting food is getting down by last few months. But now i have different experience. After the trip from Snowdonia (Wales) and Manchester, i found out that UK has a lot of European country food like Spanish food,Turkish food, Italian Food, and others. Now i feel alive and will keep hunting food in UK. Now i will present the food i hunt in my Snowdonia and Manchester Trip.

The restaurant name is "The Anglesey". The building of this restaurant looks like old fashion english house, the best part is the restaurant is facing sea. Nice feeling with good food. This is what my feeling at this restaurant.

AFter going in, there is 3 special menus today, "Mussels cooks with white wine", "Lamb Chop", and "Sirloin Steak". Sure i need to order seafood since i am at the sea side.

Nice well cook mussels with a little bit white wine, serve with some creamy soup. The soup is definitely good match with the fench bread.

My wife order an salmon. It is quite good as well but the mussel still the best. Salmon is fresh enough with some rice inside (i do not know what is that call, it is one kind of rice in India). Serve with some fresh vegetable, cook mushroom, and grill small potatoes. Personally feeling, the mushroom sauce is too strong, not suitable for the salmon.

1 Salmon
1 Mussel
1 pepsi
1/2 pint of beer

Total cost of meal = GBP 18.95 (not bad)

Address: Close to Caernarfon Castle in Wales.
